Hamilton Ion-Exclusion HPLC Columns
Ion-exclusion chromatography columns (Ion Exclusion Columns)
Hamilton PRP-X300 ion-exclusion HPLC columns
The PRP-X300 is a versatile, high-performance ion-exclusion column developed for the rapid separation of structurally similar organic acids and alcohols.
The column operates through a combination of separation mechanisms:
- ion exclusion
- hydrogen bonding
- reversed-phase interactions
As a result, the PRP-X300 can also be used effectively for samples that would show excessive retention on conventional ion-exclusion media.
Key features and benefits
- Polymer-based PS-DVB/sulfonic acid packing with excellent chemical stability
- Isocratic separation with narrow, well-defined peaks
- Selectivity can be finely controlled by adjusting the pH or adding organic modifiers (e.g. methanol or acetonitrile)
- Resistant to organic solvents, allowing a wider range of sample matrices to be handled
Configurations and available formats
PRP-X300 columns are available:
- in stainless-steel and PEEK configurations
- in various column lengths and diameters
- in analytical and semi-preparative dimensions
- with guard columns and guard cartridge systems
- as bulk resin for method development
